Congratulations!  You have OREO assets.  Now what?  As real estate owners, banks face tough asset management, risk and insurance issues.  We will offer best practices for completing and disposing of OREO assets, particularly residential and mixed use projects.

The seminar will provide a legal and practical roadmap for completing and disposing of OREO assets, including:

  • How the bank’s due diligence influences the decision to complete the project.
  • Strategic decision making, including whether the bank should complete the project.
  • The bank’s legal liabilities as the party completing construction and tactics for managing those risks.
  • Designing, structuring and implementing insurance solutions.
  • Effective disposition strategies, including bulk sales and sales to consumers.
  • Using a receiver to complete and dispose of the asset.
